Bright Line Eaters already know that foods like Sugar & Flour not only are stripped of their nutrients but when the nutrients are stripped away it turns them into dangerous narcotic-like drugs. So much so that when we eat Sugar & Flour our brains behave in the same way as someone taking more frightening drugs.
We would never compare someone bingeing on Sugar or Flour to someone shooting up Heroin. But it does the same thing to the brain, it reduces dopamine receptors in the pleasure center of the brain, and when we don’t have as many pleasure receptors, we need more and more of our drug of choice to get the same good feeling we got at first.
Are people really addicted to foods made with Sugar & Flour? Do people really binge eat when they eat foods made with Sugar & Flour? You bet, it is the drug of choice for many of us…
The Good News
The good news is after quitting drugs, soft or hard your brain can recover given enough time…
Here is where a Bright Line Rule would do well to come into play…
- 4 cups Cabbage grated or cut into thin strips
- 1 Bell Pepper, Green or Red, washed, grated or cut into thin strips
- 1/4 cup Green Onion chopped
- 3/4 cup Pineapple shredded or cut into thin pieces
- 4 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp. Horseradish grated
- 1 tsp. Salt
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- In a large bowl, put cut Cabbage, Bell Pepper, Green Onion & Pineapple
- Add Vinegar, Horseradish & 1 tsp Salt mix everything well
- Cover bowl, let marinate for 4 hours or overnight, in the refrigerator
- After 4 hours or the next day, stir well then taste the Coleslaw, add salt and pepper if needed to taste
Use as you would any Coleslaw, or try our Chipotle Pork Lettuce Wraps, enjoy!
