How To Make No-Fuss Tomato Juice From Food Storage
Not to long ago after a shopping trip I realized that I was out of tomato juice and did not want to go back to the store to buy some… It made me wonder if it was possible to make my own… Thanks to the internet I found out that regular tomato juice was probably made from tomato paste…
At the time I only had canned tomatoes and tomato sauce, but I decided to give them a try anyway… I put the tomatoes, tomato sauce and water in the blender, and added the spices that I had; ground garlic, salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and soy sauce…
It came out ok, it was a little thin… But it started me on my way to making tomato juice at home from food storage.
What I Think Works Best
After trying canned tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste. I think that using tomato paste is the easiest and quickest way to make Tomato Juice at home from Food Storage. I say from food storage but you will have to store Tomato paste to make it from your food storage…

When I thought about using tomato paste for tomato juice, I wanted to find a tomato paste that was not stored in a can, I dislike the taste of metal in my tomato sauce or juice, the other reason is that some cans are lined with a plastic that contains BPA’S so I was looking for tomato paste in glass.

Let’s make Tomato Juice…
What You Will Need

- 1-2 Teaspoons Salt
- 50 ounces Purified Water

Take your container that will hold 64, add half of the water, then add all of the tomato paste, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir or Cover with a lid and carefully shake till tomato paste is reconstituted, be sure to taste then adjust salt to your taste.
Make It Go Farther
If you want you can thin the juice more by using more water or using less tomato paste. Not sure if anyone but me would like it, but I have been making mine with only one jar of tomato paste and the same amount of water, it is really thin, but it works for me…
There are many ways you can season your home made tomato juice… All of these are to taste…
- Celery Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Hot Sauce
- Soy Sauce
- Bragg’s Aminos
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Ground Black Pepper
- Ground Horseradish (a little goes a long way)
- Lemon Juice
Keep It Refrigerated
Just like any perishable food you need to keep your Tomato Juice refrigerated… I am not sure of the shelf life… but I don’t think it will last long enough to spoil…
